With careful attention to state and local issues, the Legislature crafted a balanced budget in 2019 that strengthens reserves, bolsters economic resiliency,strengthens reserves, bolsters economic resiliency, and supports children and working families. This year’s budget provides important investments that benefit all communities in California, including early child care and public education, increased access for health care coverage, expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit, and 2020 Census outreach.
In addition, Assemblymember Daly helped secure funding for programs that will directly benefit the communities of the 69th Assembly District. This includes:
- $1.7 million for the Orange County Food Bank to establish a diaper bank for low-income families with infants or toddlers.
- $4 million for the Special Olympics of Northern and Southern California, to provide year-round sports training, competition opportunities, and medical assistance to athletes and their families in California’s public schools and community sports programs.
- $10 million for the Discovery Cube of Orange County in the City of Santa Ana.
- $20 million for the Southern California Veterans Cemetery, so that the brave women and men who served this country will have a final resting place in Orange County.
